The following statements are the important matters which must be informed to a client when the client is to retain a private investigator, based on the eighth article of the Japanese Act on Regulation of Private Detective Services.

- Confidentiality: Aside from subpoenas or requirement by law, a private investigator has a duty to keep client’s information and investigation strictly confidential. The Act on Regulation of Private Detective Services has a statue that specifically prohibits the Agency from divulging any information about the Client: Tenth (10th) article (Confidentiality) Any private investigator, without any proper reasons, shall not divulge any information acquired by him or her during any assigned work. This holds true for any person who has been a private investigator. Any private investigator must take necessary measures to prevent any unjust or unlawful use of any documents, photos and other files (including digital recordings, either electronically or magnetically) acquired and excecuted during his or her assigned work.
- Compliance of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, stipulations and regulations: The Agency agrees to comply the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, stipulations and regulations. Contents of private investigation business: Private investigation is defined as the work, requested by a client, to acquire information partaining to a person’s location or movements with the measures such as interview, surveillance or other similar activities, and to provide investigative findings to the client.
- Upon completion of the service(s) for which the Agency is being retained, the Agency will provide the Client with its investigative findings, which may include one or more of the following: copies of written reports, documents, electronically recorded statements, and video and/or photographic materials. The aforementioned is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. Issues concerning on subcontracts: The Client shall be advised that the Agency may entrust its services to its agents, contractors, and subcontractors. And the Agency warrants any person who is employed by the Agency, without any proper reasons, shall not divulge any information acquired in performing services.
- Total sum of investigation fee and costs and pocket-out expenses and time of payment:
There are three types of fee in the services of the Agency:
Basic fee (Retainer/No hit fee), and Contingency fee (Hit fee) and Cost and Expenses. Basic fee incurs regardless of success or fail of the end result, while contingency fee will only be charged at the success of the end result. Cost and expenses may include, but are not limited to, the following: fuel cost, parking fees, tolls, train fare, 35mm film, photographs, video tapes, CDs, DVDs, audio cassettes, film developing, lodging, rental vehicles, and copies of records. However, cost and expenses will not incur in most of the data search services, except cost and expenses stipulation is specifically applied at the quote. Contingency fee will be balanced from the deposit. In the event that the deposit does not cover the contingency fee, the Client will be billed the balance. - Cancellation policy: As for the data search services, NO cancellation is allowed after authorization by the Client. Any service canceled after authorization is subject to incur a 80% cancellation fee from the total investigation fee including contingency fee. If at the time the Agency waives contingency fee, the Agency will refund the unused balance of the Client’s deposit. And the balance will be refunded to the Client within seven (7) business days.
- Erase and destruction of collected information: The Agency will retain Client’s information and collected information concerning the subject for a minimum period of six months after the services assigned by the Client is completed and erase or destroy all the information after the expiration of that period. And the Agency instructs its employees, agencies, contractors and subcontractors to comply with strict internal standards of security and confidentiality.
